Xiaomi recently announced that it was launching its Black Shark S1 Pro Smartwatch for global markets with a price of just $69.99, undercutting a lot of competing smartwatches out on the market. As such, the device comes with some compelling hardware and software features which might just be enough to tempt interested buyers.
Perhaps the most interesting of these is the built-in support for Chat GPT, which is a unique approach to smart assistant software on wearables. While most watches will come with Google Assistant, Siri or Alexa built-in, Xiaomi has pulled a rather unique move here.
On the outside, the Black Shark S1 Pro features a decidedly rugged design, with a very industrial look not unlike what you’d see on watches like G-Shocks and such. The watch comes with a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen, and features a trio of buttons on the side for navigation. Battery life can last up to two weeks, which is a much-welcome feature.
The S1 Pro also features the usual set of health-tracking features such as heart rate monitoring, built-in sports modes, and added water resistance, allowing users to occasionally wash the device with water. There’s also NFC, and a health feature that Xiaomi calls a “Gaming Health Monitoring Mode.â€
