Pixel 8a or Pixel 8: Which is a better buy?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nTpsdRRye8
Google has launched the Pixel 8a for $499 in the US. This time around, the company is also selling a 256GB storage version of the phone that comes in at $559. At these prices, Google is dangerously gambling with the future of its vanilla Pixel 8 smartphone.

Originally launched at $699, the standard Pixel 8 with 128GB of storage regularly goes on sale in the US. Just last week, it was available on Amazon for as low as $549. Google also runs sales from time to time, bringing down the price of the flagship phone.

While the Pixel 8a and Pixel 8 have many similarities, including seven years of software updates and AI features, the more expensive flagship boasts better rear cameras, faster wired and wireless charging, better display protection, and an IP68 rating instead of IP67.
So when the prices for the Pixel 8 are discounted, you can literally get the phone with 128GB storage for $50 more than the price of the 128GB Pixel 8a. What do you think? Is that a better deal? Will you wait for a Pixel 8 discount in the future instead of buying the Pixel 8a right now?
