    Pixel Weather gets a fun new feature that simulates the weather with vibrations and sounds

    • Google has started rolling out a cool new feature for the Pixel Weather app to offer users a more immersive experience.
    • The feature makes your phone vibrate in sync with weather animations and plays an accompanying audio clip.
    • Immersive weather vibrations appears to be rolling out via a server-side update and should reach all users in the coming days.



    Google debuted a fresh Pixel Weather app with the Pixel 9 series earlier this year, featuring a completely revamped interface with many customization options, AI-powered weather reports, a handy weather map, and new widgets. The app recently made its way to older Pixel devices, and Google is now adding another cool feature that should enhance user experience.

    Last month, we spotted an in-development feature in a teardown of the Pixel Weather app that would make devices vibrate in sync with weather animations and play audio effects. The Immersive weather vibrations feature has started rolling out to some users (H/T Mishaal Rahman) on version 1.0.20240910.678970266.release of the Pixel Weather app via a server-side update.
