Janam XT4 Launches with 5G, Dual NFC, and Biometric Access Support

Janam Technologies has announced the launch of the XT4, its most advanced and affordable rugged mobile computer to date. Designed for high-demand environments like sports venues, warehouses, and hospitality operations, the XT4 brings a combination of fast connectivity, real-time performance, and secure credentialing to frontline workers and enterprise teams.

    Built for Speed and Scale

The XT4 runs Android 14 out of the box, with support for upgrades through Android 18, and is Android Enterprise Recommended, meeting Google’s highest bar for security and reliability. Janam equipped the handheld with a Qualcomm octa-core processor offering enhanced graphics capabilities and higher performance per watt, making it suitable for demanding workflows, including AI-driven applications and large-scale deployments.

For on-the-go connectivity, the XT4 supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and CBRS-based private LTE networks. This means faster uploads, quicker syncing, and more reliable operations in densely populated or hard-to-reach areas such as a stadium tunnel or a loading dock.

    • Optional Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor
    • Honeywell N5703 1D/2D scanner with multi-barcode support

    Rugged Design

    • IP67 rated; withstands 5-foot drops
    • Operates from -4°F to 140°F

    • Optional add-ons include cradles, chargers, trigger handles, and hand straps

    Smarter, Faster Access with HaloSense

A key highlight is Janam’s proprietary HaloSense technology. The XT4 features dual NFC antennas on both the front and rear of the device, enabling quick and reliable tap-and-go credentialing from any orientation. It’s one of the few rugged handhelds that supports Apple Enhanced Contactless Polling (ECP 2.0), Apple Value Added Services, and Google Smart Tap.

That means venues, retailers, and service providers can quickly verify tickets, loyalty passes, or employee credentials with just a wave of a phone or watch, regardless of whether it’s an iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android device.

    Rugged Meets Flexible

Built to handle tough environments, the XT4 is IP67 rated against water and dust and can survive drops from up to five feet. The 5200mAh intelligent battery is hot-swappable, letting workers keep going through long shifts without interrupting workflows or risking data loss. The device also supports biometric authentication, such as facial recognition, and features HID’s OMNIKEY Secure Element for trusted mobile access and identity management.

Organizations with existing Janam XT3 deployments won’t need to start from scratch; XT4 is backward compatible with XT3 accessories including charging cradles and mobile entry pedestals.

    A Strong Fit Across Industries

Whether managing guest entry at a concert, scanning inventory in a warehouse, or handling mobile ticketing at a theme park, the Janam XT4 delivers a frictionless and secure solution for frontline tasks. It’s built for teams that need power, portability, and peace of mind in a sleek, lightweight form factor.
