Moto G96 brings curved OLED display and Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 for just $210

Motorola’s new Moto G96 OLED phone just landed, and it’s punching way above its price class. For around $210, you’re getting a curved 144Hz OLED display, a Sony camera sensor, a 5,500mAh battery, and a surprisingly decent processor. That’s a lot of phone for not a lot of cash.

It’s positioned as the successor to last year’s G85, but this feels more like a proper jump forward than a routine spec bump. The Moto G96 features a 6.67-inch 10-bit OLED screen with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. Unlike most budget phones, the screen actually curves along the sides. Some will love it, others not so much. Either way, it makes the phone feel pricier than it is.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. That’s paired with 8GB of RAM and your choice of 128GB or 256GB of storage. You also get Android 15 right out of the box. Motorola says it will provide three major OS updates and four years of monthly security patches.

The Moto G96’s camera setup isn’t bad either. The main 50MP shooter uses Sony’s LYT-700C sensor with OIS, while the 8MP ultrawide doubles as a macro. There’s also a 32MP selfie cam, which is wild at this price point. Motorola’s Moto AI features are built in, offering things like AI photo enhancement.

The phone also features dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, a 5,500mAh battery, and 33W fast charging. And yes, it’s IP68-rated for water and dust resistance.

The phone launches in India on July 16 in four Pantone-approved colors: Greener Pastures, Cattleya Orchid, Ashleigh Blue, and Dresden Blue. No word yet on when it will come to the US.
