Samsung One UI Rolls out to More Appliances Beyond Smartphones

Samsung’s been busy lately—not too long after announcing upcoming updates to its cloud gaming platform, as well as a couple of new gaming monitors,  the Korean tech giant more recently announced that it was rolling out its signature One UI interface to more Samsung products, going beyond its smartphones and tablets.

We’re of course talking about its smart home appliance lineup, which promises buyers up to seven years of updates after launch, starting with products launched in 2024. Samsung says that this big update will give users a more cohesive and uniform experience across different Samsung devices. Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the R&D Team of the Digital Appliances (DA) Business at Samsung comments:
By bringing One UI to smart appliances, we are transforming the way people interact with technology in their homes… This consistency ensures that the experience feels natural and familiar across all our devices.

That being said, the One UI update will give users access to software services like Bixby, Galler and Samsung TV Plus (yes, even on your fridge), SmartThings for inter-device connectivity, and even Samsung’s new “Now Brief” which gives users personal updates and relevant info on their display.

The One UI update will also bring over new features such as software-based security solutions like Knox Matrix, AI Vision Inside for select devices with built-in 9-inch displays, Bixby voice ID recognition, as well as new design tweaks to One UI.
