While its devices aren’t exactly available for a lot of Western markets, Huawei’s continued innovation with different hardware form factors has been one of the more interesting developments that we’ve seen within the smartphone industry. That in mind, the company recently announced the Mate XTs Ultimate Design, its latest trifold phone.
The Mate XTs is the company’s second trifold device, and comes with new features in the mix. This time around, Huawei’s priced it a bit lower at around $2,500 (when converted), which is slightly more affordable compared to its predecessor’s $2,800 price tag. Another key highlight is stylus compatibility, which was notably absent on the first-generation Mate XT.

As for its display, it comes with a 10.2-inch screen which folds down to smaller 6.4 and 7.9-inch sizes, and is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 9020 chipset. Other features include a 40MP ultra-wide camera, and a host of new colours including white, purple, as well as black and red. For software, the phone runs on Harmony OS 5.1.
At the moment, the Mate XTs is currently exclusive for Chinese markets, although we wouldn’t be surprised to see it launch in more regions worldwide (although that would of course exclude the US).
