Lenovo Showcases AI-Powered Devices and Bold Concepts at IFA 2025

Lenovo used its Innovation World 2025 event in Berlin to roll out a sweeping portfolio of products and concepts designed to push AI computing further into the business mainstream. The lineup included refreshed ThinkPad workstations, a new ThinkVision curved ultrawide display, next-generation smart docks, and a series of proof-of-concept designs that give a glimpse of what productivity hardware might look like in the near future.

    Workstations Built for AI Workloads

At the center of Lenovo’s announcements is the redesigned ThinkPad P16 Gen 3, a mobile workstation with the latest Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors, up to 24 cores, and an integrated NPU to accelerate AI processing. The machine pairs this with NVIDIA RTX Pro 5000 Blackwell graphics, making it suitable for demanding fields like 3D rendering, CAD, and AI development.

Lenovo is complementing the flagship with several new models, including the ThinkPad P1 Gen 8, P16v Gen 3, P16s Gen 4, and P14s Gen 6. Each is ISV-certified, with configurations aimed at professionals ranging from data scientists and engineers to designers and students who need uncompromised compute power in a portable form factor.

For those who value style as much as horsepower, Lenovo is bringing the ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition in Glacier White later this year. The premium Copilot+ PC offers over 40 TOPS of AI performance in both 14- and 15-inch versions.

    Concept Devices With a Twist

Lenovo is experimenting with hardware that rethinks traditional PC form factors. The ThinkBook VertiFlex Concept (pictured above) introduces a 14-inch rotatable display that flips from horizontal to vertical, giving coders, editors, and multitaskers a new way to view content.

    USB4 Smart Dock 5500

The Smart Motion Concept doubles as a laptop stand and intelligent assistant. By integrating cameras, microphones, and speakers, it supports facial tracking, gesture input via an AI ring, and ergonomic health features.

Lenovo also previewed the NaturaSynth Display, a prototype monitor that cuts blue light emissions to under 1% for eye comfort, mimicking natural light illumination.

Displays and Docks for Serious Multitasking

On the productivity front, the ThinkVision P40WD-40 ultrawide curved display delivers 5120×2160 resolution on a 39.7-inch panel with 21:9 aspect ratio. It supports a 98% DCI-P3 color gamut, IPS Black technology, and is the first desktop monitor with a 24–120Hz variable refresh rate. A built-in Thunderbolt 4 dock with charging, Ethernet, and DisplayPort outputs makes it a hub for both creatives and professionals.

Lenovo is also refreshing its ThinkPad Smart Dock lineup. The flagship Thunderbolt 5 Smart Dock 7500 supports up to three 8K displays and delivers up to 180W via PD 3.1. The Thunderbolt 4 Smart Dock Gen 2 7500 and USB4 Smart Dock 5500 offer more affordable options while still packing strong display and charging capabilities.

Beyond the Device: AI Services and Software

Alongside hardware, Lenovo is rolling out AI Developer, a full-stack development suite built on open-source libraries and frameworks, optimized for its workstation lineup. Services like AI Fast Start, Care of One, and AI PC Premier Support are designed to help organizations deploy AI-ready PCs more effectively.

Lenovo also announced a pilot program with Intel’s AI Assistant Builder, demonstrating use cases such as automating academic peer reviews while keeping sensitive data secure.
