The Galaxy S24 series is old news. It was succeeded by the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year and even that's going to be taken over in a few months when Samsung launches the Galaxy S26 lineup by January 2026.
Perhaps the company had a few spare Snapdragon chips lying around, because it has decided to launch a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered version of the Galaxy S24 in India.
India gets the Snapdragon variant at last
We reported last week about multiple indications that emerged regarding the potential launch of the Galaxy S24's Snapdragon variant in India. Samsung India has officially confirmed the launch today.
The chipset is the only major difference otherwise it's the same phone that came out in 2024. Samsung had launched the Exynos 2400-powered Galaxy S24 in India back then and is now offering the Snapdragon variant.
Lots of other markets got the Exynos variant as well but Samsung's decision to relaunch the Galaxy S24 with a Snapdragon chipset is limited to India only. The company offers no explanation as to why this has been done.
Perhaps it thought why waste the chips that went unused when you could put them in a phone that's already a generation old and sell it?
Either way, interested customers will be able to pick one up ahead of the festive season in India. Samsung is offering the device in Onyx Black, Marble Grey, Amber Yellow, and Cobalt Violet colors.
