Users looking for a fully-compatible version of Google Chrome for Windows on Arm might be in luck – it looks like the company is preparing to bring over the Google Chrome browser to computers running Windows 11 Arm, as
spotted online by user Pedro Justo.
With that in mind, a native version of Google Chrome for Arm devices should ideally provide a much better web browsing experience, with significantly reduced lag and issues with performance.
According to a report from the team over the The Verge, the Chrome “Canary” Version in question does indeed run on ARM64.
This comes as a surprise as Google didn’t previously mention upcoming support for Windows on Arm, although this new finding is a much-welcome surprise for many. By comparison, Microsoft’s Edge browser has long had a version that’s compatible with devices on Arm.
Interestingly, Google does support Arm-based processors in a way via a ChromeOS version that’s developed for chips from manufacturers such as Qualcomm, for example. At the moment however, Google has yet to clarify when it plans to bring the stable version of Chrome to Windows on Arm devices.
