Update firmware

My iphone is running firmware 1.1.4 and i want to upgrade but my iphones unlocked and jailbroken but i hear when you update it it relocks it but i just want to update it is there a way to do it without if locking back up and would it rejailbreak it or whatever to?

woooooooooo, u have an iphone with that old firmware...lol...where have u been bro...anyways to answer ur question...everytime u update firmware it will relock phone...but there are new ways to jailbreak everytime a new firmware gets released...check out the iphone application center and you will see programs to jailbreak your iphone for the latest and some of the older firmware version...so no worries...

Hey Ice I have a question too, Do I need a AT&T SIM card to 1. jailbreak first generation Iphone? and 2. can I continue to use that iphone just as a super ipod? thanks homie.

Sorry Bro I should've started my own thread.

you can still jailbreak and use the apps and download through wifi without troubles..... you dont need the sim card from what i would think.

Dash is right lalo...u do not need a sim to "jailbreak" an iPhone...but you do obviously need it for cell service...and you can use the iPhone as a supped up ipod, but then it would just be the itouch without the phone and with a whole lot less memory than the new iTouches...
