Re: Yahoo Go To Go Bye-Bye

What the article fails to mention is the agreement for Yahoo to begin to depend on Bing (Microsoft) for maps & web searches. Yahoo Go competes directly with the fabulous Bing application for WinMo phones & others. Exactly what would be the purpose of having Yahoo Go exist when it would eventually be dependent on Bing anyhow?

I used Yahoo Go when it was in its earlier incarnations. I used it alot. But, when it got to 3.0 (I think) and began to depend on widgets, the app go so slow, it was useless. The double whammy was the fact that Mobile Shell, Touch Flo, Android and others offered much - if not all - of what Go did, but did so right on your homescreen.

the last part was the killer for me when i used in the early stages as well... why would i want to open a slow as app that took forever to load when i could do without it... i liked the yahoo news bout went to an rss reader at that time, and for the email i just decided to add it regularly, and for the other stuff as well mobile shell and htc home did the job for me.... it didnt offer much anymore and decided for the yahoo stuff i did need why not just make my homepage yahoo and get rid of the application completely..... good idea but they needed t add the extra pizzazz factor that they never did find.
