OnePlus 10T?s 150W charging will not work in the US

The OnePlus 10T is expected to be officially announced on the 3rd of August, but ahead of the launch, the company has revealed one upcoming feature – 150W SuperVOOC Endurance Edition, which is to basically say that the phone supports 150W fast charging over a wired connection. But here’s the kicker – if you live in the US, you can forget about it. According to OnePlus, this is namely due to the fact that over in North America, where outlets are rated at 110-120V, the phone will only hit a maximum charging speed of 125W, which is honestly still pretty amazing as the company claims that this will allow the phone to go from 1-100% in just 20 minutes.

Now, there is some good news. Despite the US not supporting the full 150W, OnePlus will still be bundling its 160W SuperVOOC power adapter with all phones. This means that if you travel overseas to a country that has power outlets rated at 220V or higher, you’ll be able to take full advantage of the 150W charging.

OnePlus notes that 150W will let you recharge the phone from 1-100% in 19 minutes, so honestly it’s only a difference of 1 minutes from 125W, so unless you really can’t spare that extra minute, we imagine that this won’t be a big deal for the majority of users.

The company also claims that despite this super fast charging, it won’t have an adverse effect on the battery. They say that the phone’s battery will be able to retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, which if you charge your phone daily means it should be good for at least 4 years.
