It seems we are seeing the next version of Windows Mobile 6.5 developing right in front of our eyes, with pretty major changes taking place almost on a daily basis.

It occurred to me this may be a good time to provide the Windows Mobile team with some feedback as to what we would want to see in an updated Windows Mobile 6.5. For this question I am ignoring Windows Mobile 7, which even at this stage we don’t really know anything about.

Some suggestions I have read in the various Windows Mobile 6.5.1 threads are pretty simple and easy to implement, such as replacing all the white backgrounds with a light gray shade.

Others are more complex but still sensible, such as a better organization of settings making the various items easier to find.

What is your pet peeve and hoped for improvement in the next iteration of WM 6.5? Let us (and hopefully Microsoft) know in the comments.

Re: What do you want to see in WM 65x

The ability to have custom softkeys on all screens including the front and start menu. Also I want to be able to have shortcut keys on my keyboard, like if i open my TP2 and press CTRL + M, i want it to open something and make all those customizable. Also simple windows shortcuts to be integrated like "windows key + L" to lock but make it like ctrl or fn + L or both..."windows key + E" to get file explorer.... just more implementation of the keypad and just make the soft keypad available on the front screen as well for those non-keypad devices... Also having widgets as a major part of the UI, the 6.5 titanium is all fine and dandy but it woul dbe cool if you had other pages to the right and left as well...

The ability for Sync to sync with more than just Windows apps so I don't have to go around looking for 3rd party apps to do this.

app-wise...
Visual voicemail w/o having to resort to a call forwarding app.

The google nav from Droid. lol.

Re: What do you want to see in WM 6.5.x?

Handwriting recognition programs like Windows tablet has. It would be cool to hand write text messages and emails, draw diagrams, ect. From my business standpoint, I'd love it if pdf docs could be signed, initialed, ect right on the touch screen phone.

On the hardware side, any chance these PPC phones will come with removable and upgradable RAM? We have the ability to increase storage, it would be sweet to increase RAM for multitasking.

Haha, I read about that phone. You put on a custom theme and sold it, right?

I was hoping they'd create some type of memory slot like they have for the SDHC card. These PPCs could really benefit from upgraded memory to multitask.

I know I'm dreaming, but these things are starting to become "mini tablet" computers.
