Samsung Galaxy S21 Phones Get New Security Updates

Software updates mean a great deal to a lot of Android enthusiasts, and a company’s promise to supply its devices with years of security patches and OS upgrades is taken very seriously. As such, Samsung has finally released the latest April 2022 security update for its Galaxy S21 series devices, keeping its word to fans and consumers that it will give more priority to putting out timely Android updates for its smartphones. The update includes all S21 models, namely the base model S21, S21 Plus, and the S21 Ultra.

This update follows the earlier security patch released for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. It’s worth noting that Samsung’s recent updates have been on-time, even beating out Google’s software updates for its Pixel devices. In addition, other Samsung Galaxy devices like the Galaxy S20 FE and A71 5G (to name a few) have also received updates which include the latest One UI 4.1 version.

In addition to providing firmware updates for its flagship devices, the company has also pledged to provide up to four years of Android OS upgrades and five years of software support for its newer devices, which include the Galaxy A53 and A33. The Galaxy A53 has already been released in most markets, while the A33 will launch later this April.

Samsung’s Galaxy S21 series were released back in 2021, and launched with Android 11 with Samsung’s One UI skin. The phones have since been replaced by the company’s Galaxy S22 devices. In particular, the S22 Ultra is vastly different compared to its predecessor, as it now comes with a built-in S-Pen, a hardware add-on that was once exclusive to the Galaxy Note device line.

If you own a Galaxy S21 device and still haven’t checked if your device has received the update, you can head on to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
