5 Great Android Apps for Video Content Creators

It’s undeniable that smartphones have become the go-to device for a lot of our daily needs. Hardware and software advancements throughout the years have enabled modern phones to become our all-in-one communication device, internet browser, gaming handheld, entertainment center, and more. Aside from their primary use as media-consumption devices, modern smartphones also feature hardware that makes them ideal for content creation. With that said, the popularity of YouTube and other video-streaming services has influenced how we use our phones – a lot of people are spending time either watching videos or making them for entertainment and educational purposes. If you fall into the latter group of smartphone users, then you might rely on your device for filming and editing your videos.

If that’s the case, then you might be looking for some apps that can greatly enhance your video production workflow. We’ve listed a few apps that we think will come in handy for making your YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok content. Let’s get started!

FilmoraGo Video Editor & Maker

If you’re looking for a video editor that can give you professional-looking templates and editing features, then you might want to check out FilmoraGo. The app is easy to use, and gives you the same features that you’d get in a desktop video editor, albeit shrunk down for smaller displays. The app has access to hundreds of different backgrounds, transitions, text and effects, as well as a music library with over 1,000 different tunes to choose from.

You can also add your own music of course, and the app allows users to export videos to HD quality resolution. While the app is free, users can opt to upgrade to a paid “Pro” version to access more premium editing features.

Check out the app here.

Pixelflow: Intro Maker

Ever wondered how to do those fancy-looking animations and logos for YouTube? Pixelflow makes the whole process easier by giving you access to a ton of different logo animation styles for use with your YouTube channel. The app features different templates with different kinds of animations and backgrounds, and all that’s left for you to do is add your own custom logo, and watch it turn into one of those slick intros that you’d normally see on professional YouTube videos.

The app also lets you create “subscribe” and “follow” animations, which is really useful. You can also add backgrounds to your animations, or leave them with a green screen if you want to add them into a different video altogether. Pixelflow is free to use, but also offers a very affordable monthly subscription package if you want to use more of its features.

Renderforest Intro Animation

Similar to Pixelflow, Renderforest lets users edit animated intros with their own custom logos. The difference is that Renderforest offers a bit more in the way of templates and animation styles, and it even features full-3D animations with different text and graphic elements. If you have a desktop computer, you can also access your videos and templates on Renderforest’s official website.

With that said, Renderforest is a bit expensive. You can of course opt to export your animations and intros with their free option, although this only gives you a low-resolution video. There are monthly and annual plans available, and while they are a bit on the expensive side, the video quality that you get is really professional and well-polished.

PowerDirector – Video editor

Cyberlink’s PowerDirector app should be a familiar name to many mobile video creators out there. It’s one of the most popular apps on the platform, and for good reason. Powerdirector lets you edit professional-looking content thanks to a suite of awesome features, and it’s optimized to run on 64-bit devices, so editing on your phone will be a faster and smoother experience overall.

PowerDirector also gives content creators access to a large library of transitions, effects, stock photos and music, and even includes tools like video stabilization, chroma-key, and lets you render up to 4K resolution videos. Of course, some features need paid access, but even the free version offers a lot of neat editing tools on its own.

Canva: Design, Photo & Video

If you make a lot of YouTube videos, then you’re probably familiar with the entire concept of thumbnails. They’re essentially little pictures that serve to tease viewers on what your video is about, and if done properly they can lead to tons of views on your content. Canva specializes in letting you edit images, from photo collages and greeting cards to – you guessed it – video thumbnails.

And it doesn’t stop at YouTube – Canva also lets users edit photos for Instagram content, with a wealth of features to allow you to add text, adjust color tone, add filters, and more. You can also design logos on the app which is a cool feature, since you won’t need any additional desktop software if you want to create your own logo or branding.
