Upcoming Oppo K10 5G will be the first smartphone to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8000

Oppo is working on a new smartphone called the Oppo K10 5G, and according to a listing on the TENAA’s website (China’s equivalent of the FCC), it appears that the phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8000 chipset, making it the first smartphone to be using the chipset following MediaTek’s announcement last month.Based on the listing, here are some of the specs that we might be able to expect. It will come with a 6.59-inch LTPS LCD screen with a 1080p Full HD resolution. There will also be a triple camera setup on the back that consists of a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP camera, and another 2MP camera that’s hidden under the flash.

It is also expected to come with 8-12GB of RAM and will be offered in storage variants of 128GB and 256GB. It does not appear to be the most powerful smartphone around, but given that the previously announced Oppo K10 last month was also a mid-range handset, it’s not surprising that the 5G variant is too.

Both phones feature slightly different hardware, with the K10 sporting a Qualcomm chipset while the K10 5G features MediaTek’s new chipset and supports 5G, while the normal K10 only supports LTE at best. There have also been reports of a K10 Pro that will feature the Snapdragon 888.

There’s no mention of availability, but if the listing on TENAA is any indication, we should probably hear something soon enough.
