Entry-level Poco C40 smartphone announced

These days, the majority of Android smartphones are powered by Qualcomm’s chipsets. You will come across some that are powered by MediaTek’s chipsets, and some powered by Samsung’s Exynos chipsets, but Poco has unveiled its latest entry-level smartphone, the Poco C40, which is powered by a chipset from a company you might not have heard of.The Poco C40 is the company’s latest budget handset and sitting under the hood is the JR510 made by a Shanghai-based company called JLQ. For those wondering about the specs, the JR510 features four 2GHz cores and another four cores clocked at 1.5GHz, ultimately making this an octa-core handset. There will also be a Mali-G52 GPU accompanying it.

The phone will also be offered in 3GB or 4GB RAM variants, which is kind of low by today’s standards, and the storage options are either 32GB or 64GB which is paltry, but then again, it is a budget handset so it is what it is.

On the camera front, the Poco C40 will come equipped with a dual camera setup that consists of a 13MP main camera (yes, you read that right), and a 2MP depth sensor. There will also be a 6.71-inch LCD screen with a HD+ resolution, and under the hood, a 6,000mAh battery can be found with support for 18W charging.

Poco did not confirm the price of the phone except to say that it will vary based on location, but then again given these specs, we expect that it will be very affordable.
