Kovol Sprint 65W is a multi-port GaN charger you can take anywhere

The world is starting to open up again which means that more of us get to travel once more. If you’re someone who needs to do work on the move, or maybe you just want to bring your laptop with you, this also means that you need to bring your laptop’s charger, which can get pretty big and bulky.Thankfully, the arrival of GaN chargers has changed that landscape. For those unfamiliar, GaN chargers are a type of charger that does not use the typical silicon components you might find in regular chargers. This allows them to be smaller and more efficient, making them easier to be brought around while being just as powerful.

If you’re looking for a new charger, then perhaps the Kovol Sprint 65W PD 4-Port GaN Fast Charger might be worth checking out, and here’s why.

Support for multiple devices

Some chargers only come with one port, which makes it tricky if you need to charge multiple items because it means more chargers that you’ll have to bring along. If you want more ports, then you might need a bigger charger which kind of defeats the point regarding portability.

With the Kovol Sprint, the charger actually comes with four ports. This includes two USB-A quick charging ports and two USB-C power delivery ports. If you have multiple devices like a tablet, smartwatch, or a power bank that needs charging, you will also be able to do just that.

Fast charging

According to Kovol, here are the tech specs of the Sprint charger:
  • Input – 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz 1.5A
  • PD Output – 5V-3A, 9V-3A, 12V-3A, 20V-3.25A, PPS 3.3V ~ 11V-3A, 65W Max. each port
  • Q-Pulse Output – 5V-3A, 9V-2A, 12V-1.5A, 18W Max. each port
  • Total – Output 65W Max.
The charger comes with a combined total output of 65W. This means that for the most part, the Kovol Sprint will be powerful enough to juice up your phone and laptop at the same time, and then some.

As we mentioned earlier, there is support for Quick-Charge 3.0 at 18W. This means that with a compatible smartphone, you will be able to juice it back up to 80% in just 35 minutes, which is relatively quick. If you need to be somewhere and don’t have a lot of time to spare, getting it back up to 80% in about half an hour seems pretty good.

Speaking of power, the Kovol Sprint also comes with intelligent power allocation. This is a feature of the charger that can continuously monitor the power needs of the devices connected to it, and in turn, it will be able to optimize the current going into each device to help maximize its overall efficiency.

Built-in safety features

Now, some of you might be a bit concerned that with all these features and the ability to charge four devices simultaneously, wouldn’t it get too hot and potentially catch on fire? Like we said earlier, one of the features of GaN chargers is that it doesn’t use the same silicon components as regular chargers.

This in turn helps reduce issues like heat, which can lead to improved safety, but of course, Kovol is taking things further by introducing protections against short-circuiting, over charging, and also overcurrent, meaning that users will be able to use the Kovol Sprint while maintaining peace of mind regarding its safety.

Kovol is also offering customers an 18 month warranty window, which is actually pretty generous, so you can use the charger and if there are any issues, you’ll have 18 months to send it back to the company.

Pricing and availability

If you’re keen on the Kovol Sprint 65W PD 4-Port GaN Fast Charger, Kovol is selling it on their website for just $49.99. This is actually a pretty good price considering that some official chargers sold by other companies can cost more, not to mention they might also be bigger and might not be quite as versatile, so head on over to Kovol’s website to buy it or to learn more about it.
