Microsoft?s Xbox App is Coming to Samsung Smart Monitors

A while back, we mentioned that Samsung was working on a Gaming Hub service for its smart TVs and monitors, which will let users choose from different game-streaming services for use on their television. A new announcement from the company – in cooperation with Microsoft – has now confirmed that the two tech giants will collaborate to bring over the Microsoft Xbox App to the Samsung Gaming Hub.

Won-Jin Lee, President and Head of the Service Business Team at Samsung Electronics commented, “We are excited to deepen our partnership with Xbox by adding the Xbox app to Samsung Gaming Hub, which now gives Samsung Smart TV users access to hundreds of Xbox Game Pass games. With the same ease that our customers watch live sports and stream movies on Samsung Neo QLEDs and QLEDs, they can now play their favorite games.”

The Gaming Hub was first introduced by Samsung back in CES 2022, and is currently the only Smart TV feature to offer the Xbox App. It runs on Samsung’s Tizen software platform, which was previously used on some of the company’s older phones and smartwatches.

While Samsung doesn’t primarily deal with console gaming hardware, the company does include its “Game Launcher” app on all its smartphones and tablets, which works similarly to the Google Play Games App. A few years back, the company also sold the Samsung GLAP Controller, a wireless Bluetooth controller for Android phones.
