How do I place a ringtone for text messages? I've figured out how to set ringtones for contacts but, still can't figure out text tones!!!

Open your sms app then press menu hardware key. Then settings. Then notifications. From within the app. Set it there and you'll be good.

or you can get rid of the stock messenger and use handcent sms. which has alot more options then the normal. and you can add ringtones as the sms sound. i had the same question before. and id have to say its better then the stock.

+1, with the combo of better keyboard and handcent sms you have a lethal duo, that for sure.
