Hey guys I wanna know if there is a way to start your car using your cell phone... So can someone make an application that can start a car like it does with a remote...

no its impossible people on youtube are bullshitting because the frequencies through the infared are totally different and the one in your phone is not strong enough.

Re: Start your car using your phone.

I think it would be possible using the same technology that people use when using a cell phone to detonate a bomb. I think you would be able to dial into a number which would act like a switch to turn the car on. It wouldn't be cheap.

you would need to have a custom computer put into your car to allow it. the brain of the alarm for the unlock and remote start is wired into the vehicles other wires which all leads to the cars computer. for your phone your not going to have wires or a brain of course. so you would have to have a dealership make a custom computer for the vehicle allowing the frequency of the phones infared beam to be reading through the car.

yeah it takes all the wires like i said above there is no way to do it with just an app like he asked above so be sure to read...... and the modules you are talking about you still would have to be right next to the car for it to work it wont work at any distance since the infared beams on the phone arent strong enough....... if you got a custom computer installed into the vehicle you could have it be more sensative to the infared beam being sent from the phone meaning you could prolly do from about 10 foot away.....

Re: Start your car using your phone.

or just add a second line and hook a cell phone up to a computer so start your car every time it recieves an incoming call....it could also double as a car phone...

there you go.
