unlock help

I just got a blackberry pearl (8120) from my cousin and its for at&t but i need to use it for tmobile... can somebody help me unlocking the phone? I got the IMEI number.

ok are you able to talk to tech support for him cause i got you a fool proof way of getting it.

what you mean talk for him? like if i have to give account details im f'd but then i would be good...

you will need account details.... you will have to have him do this since blackberries are world devices this will work without troubles.

1. tell them you are going on a vacation overseas to where ever your heart desires (they will ask where) and you need your phone unlocked to work over there.
2. he will than ask some questions on the account and the imei numbers behind the battery and maby one other number. (cant quite remember)
3. than he will give you a number. this number is the unlock code
4. stick the sim that you want to use in the phone and than activate it up using the number that he gave you when it prompts for the unlock code.
5. this will work for any sim and should only have to do it once but keep it handy to be safe and dont lose it.

thats what i was reading about, i head if you try to call for example at&t and just ask for the unlocking department (subisdy something something) and just say i need a code cause im going to italy for couple of weeks they would email it to you for free... imma try with out account options and then ill ask my cousin for help...

So i got the CODE!! and my phone is now unlocked! and now another problem i have a blackberry with NO INTERNET!! so if i buy the 5 dollar internet plan from tmobile, would that work?
