[FREEWARE] Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

All,

Here's the fix for the 2016 bug, it's already been tested by Sci.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\SMS]
"RecvTimeStamp"=dword:00000001


According to Scientific, "It works like a Champ"


EDIT: The other option for 2.5.1922 native HTC Messaging users -
Software\Jataayu\Messaging\SMS\UseSystemTimeAsRecv Time dword:1
Haven't tested this one, just found it earlier today.

EDIT3: Attached is a CAB with both keys in it.

EDIT4: If anyone is really interested, this is how VZW's Stock rom has it set, check 85d93f55-898d-45d5-998d-221fc1f2fd8a.rgu in the OperatorOKG. Calkulin 1.3 and SSK 3.2 also have the same settings. It's also in PPCKitchen.org BuildOS, at least in the VZW Carrier rgu.

this is one of the cabs i have. have you tried it yet? i'm in the middle of uncharted 2.


i attached the other cab below. i have not tired it either, but i think it's pretty much the same thing.

HAHAHA you know I was doing some research and I was able to adjust the issue ... it took me 6 hoursto figure it out hahaha ... and later found the cabs hahaha ... glad it all worked out the right way

hahaha word jr a lil late since these were released last night but owell... i didnt even worry about them and just flashed to the newest silence rom 10 and it was already prefixed in the newest release... so im happy and man o man is 10 running lie a dream... even better than any of the past ones including 9

most people on cdma networks had a glitch that made all text messages say they were sent in 2016 right after the new year passed and this fixes that issue

yuppers and only the incoming were doing this which made a hassle since you couldnt see if you replied or noot to the person without scrolling all the way to the top since the ones you send are correctly stamped and 2016 received are of course newest so at the bottom of the threaded conversation. the worst thing about it was when you got picmails sicne you received those with the right time stamp so you had to scroll all the way to the top by your messages to see the picmail and remove the 1 unread message from your phone.

really none of the fixes have worked for you? silence has it built right in which is nice as well.

i haven't tried them since i re-flashed War. I'm waiting til he releases a newer version. I was under the impression he has cooked in a fix.

word but why wait when it is only a cab file that you have to install... that error drove me crazy especially with picmails since those came through as the right time and date and had to scroll up through hundreds of past messages in the convo to get to them and read it and clear it as well.

i don't usually save sms or mms. if it's something good i save it to the sd card and delete it on the phone.

neither do i, i do over 500 messages a day back and fourth easily if not more.

hahahah not really i just love the tp2 keyboard and what can i say the ladies cant stop talking to me they keep sending me pics and i have to reply to see the next

but back on topic in this thread so we dont go to far off... we got the 1 million post game for that
