yes there are apps for that but they will have to be tested and made sure they will work... i can test on the 9th when i get my hero if someone would be nice enough that worked at sprint give me service for 20 minutes or so, so a test could be conducted.

my buddy who has my sero line will be out of the state so cant switch his service on him even though it would be funny.

(hes going hunting so needs phone in case of emergency)

Re HTC Hero

What do you people think will give us the fastest speeds when connected to a laptop, I.E. Bluetooth, wifi, usb cable?

Thanks

what? when connected to the laptop via tethering your using your nets so you wouldnt use wifi since no need to tether if you had wifi and you cant be connected to two different wifi spots at the same time..... and if your talkingbetween the tp2 and the hero than we dont know until the hero is released how the tethering speeds on a cdma android device will work since it will be the first in the states.

Re HTC Hero

I think what he ment was using a wifi app to turn the phone into a wifi hotspot so he could tether off the phones data connection, I would have to say USB would be the strongest connection then wifi then bluetooth.

Is it maybe the update for the gsm version not the cdma (sprint) version? I can't imagine they will upgrade us to 1.6 quite so soon. But one can only hope they do. I hope they just work on getting us eclair (2.0) when it's released though.

the equivalent to a "hard spl" for android would be rooting the device, which they are working on still for the sprint hero, im helpin out a few people on the dev team to speed things up a bit...soon...

Re HTC Hero

from what i hear form a contact at sprint we should be getting 2.0 soon like next month as a firmware update. this should fix some of the bugs in the phone like the (listen) the program for podcast, as of right know it doesn't work i can subscribe but cant get any to play.

Does any one know of a podcatcher that works?

I would love to go to just one device that i carry around all the time.
