Charger Plug issues

I have a PPC6800, Mogul(?), and will be getting a Pro.
My concern is the charging port. I use a car charger often, due to the low
battery time, and have had that mini usb charging port get worn out to the
point where if it isn't just right, it does not charge the phone.

I am told that the Pro uses the same charger?
Will I continue to have this problem?
From what I have read here the Pro is much better than any thing
out there, but I never had this issue with my BB, and really don't want to
go back to a BB.

I would really appreciate any input or suggestions from you guys.

Also, the Pro will be the first time for a cooked rom. Never tried my mogul, but
it seems to be pretty simple.

Thanks every one.

Re: Charger Plug issues

I had a Mogul, have a Pro, and yes, my Mogul had the charging port issues. I have not noticed the port on the Pro to be an issue. Nevertheless, I am gentle with it given my Mogul experience. And a custom ROM is a MUST on any phone that there is a custom ROM available for. And there's no reason to go back to BB. The Pro is def one of the best phones available. There are numerous people that have had issues with the Pro, so can't guarantee that it will be Nirvana for you, but it's a great phone. And I personally have had no issues with it. Good luck.

Re: Charger Plug issues

I don't think you should have any problems with the charger...I think the pro is made better plus it has a bigger charger port because of the t.v. out feature....so you it should be easier to plug in w/damage than the mogul...plus if you have insurance you can get your phone replaced/fixed if the pins get bent or broken

well basically a others have mentioned.. it is all around a better phone in the sense that it is the next, logical and evolutionary step.

But, to answer your question specifically...
the issues w/ your mgul was a problem with your pins, within the device itself... not with the charger, so no sing the same charger will not have the same results on the pro, (provided you arent too physically rough on the device to where you will damage the pins again) , but the pro ddddoes not come w/ the same charger, it comes w/ its own, the fact is... it is just compatible w/ other charges (especially those from htc) but also motorolla bb etc if they are compatable wattage they will work

Overall I would not be concerned w/ weather the charger will damage the phone b/c of the issue u had on the mogul... your concern should be for you not to damage the the port on the phone by being to rough or anything... natuarually deterioration over time will happens as may have been the case with yo mogul, but.. as shownuff stated, if you have insurance, you wil be able to get it repaired or replace...

hope this hlps
