[NEWS] Palm Pixi Will Join the Pre on Sprint Where is the ATT Eos

Palm just unveiled the Palm Pixi, a slab QWERTY webOS device that looks like the oft rumored AT&T Palm Eos for GSM. However, it looks like the Pixi will remain in its CDMA ranks, joining the Palm Pre on Sprint's network.

Unlike the bigger cousin the Palm Pre, the Pixi will eschew the sliding QWERTY and instead have a QWERTY fixed on the front of the phone, like the Treo Pro. No price is given for the Pixi yet, but industry insiders are speculating that the device will cost less than the Palm Pre, perhaps to fill the low-cost gap of the Palm OS Centro.

The Pixi will sport 8 GB of on-board storage, a 2.63-inch, 320 x 400 capacitive touchscreen display, 1150 mAh battery, and a slim 0.43-inch profile, which is thinner than the iPhone 3GS.

Engadget Mobile has had some hand-on time with the demo and they seem really pleased and impressed. The handset will debut at New York's Fashion Week.
