Sprint announces plans to support Qualcomm’s Brew platform
Sprint (NYSE: S) announced that it will support Brew by launching devices running Qualcomm (NSDQ: QCOM)’s mobile platform. We’re not sure which handsets Sprint plans to add in the coming weeks and months, but we do know they’ll leave space for Brew apps on the Sprint Application Developer Program website. Commenting on the announcement, Sprint’s director of device development, Brian Finnerty, said: “Sprint is committed to delivering the most compelling technology to our customers, through a variety of operating systems, and we now have the ability to uniquely integrate compelling features and services deep in the hardware with Brew MP. By supporting both high-performance mobile Java and native applications on Brew MP, we can offer more advanced devices to an even broader set of Sprint customers |
