FIFA 22 to get cross-play support for Stadia, Xbox Series S/X, and PS5

Due to the different infrastructures that companies use for their online gaming services, sometimes implementing cross-play support for games can get tricky, which is why sometimes some games do not support cross-play across consoles or PCs.The good news is that if you’re a FIFA 22 player that’s looking for more challengers to play with, you’re in luck because EA has announced that they will be looking to start testing out cross-play for the game. This will cover FIFA 22 across a multitude of platforms which includes Google Stadia, Sony’s PS5, and Microsoft’s Xbox Series S/X.
“We’re eager to let our players connect across multiple platforms, and in the near future we’ll be testing Cross-play functionality in Online Seasons and Online Friendlies on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia versions of EA SPORTS FIFA 22.”

Right now, there is no cross-play support for the game. This means that if you play the game on your Xbox or PS console, you can only play with others who are using the same console. There is cross-gen support, meaning that PS4 gamers can play with PS5 gamers, for example, but that’s pretty much the extent of it.

The introduction of cross-play could actually be pretty rad, especially if you’re a Stadia gamer because since Stadia allows gamers to play on any device that supports it, you could actually play FIFA 22 on your phone while you’re outside against other players playing at home. There’s no word on when cross-play support will be released, but it’s something gamers can look forward to.
