ZTE Axon 40 Ultra officially announced with a pretty reasonable price tag

Last year, ZTE launched its flagship smartphone, the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra which came with some incredible hardware and was also priced reasonably (by today’s standards). If you were a fan, then you will be pleased to learn that ZTE has since followed up with its successor, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra.Seeing as this is a flagship handset, it does come with all the bells and whistles one might expect from a high-end device, which includes a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 2480×1116 resolution with 400 PPI, along with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch sampling rate.

Under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset will be powering the phone and there will be support for up to 16GB of RAM (base model comes with 8GB) and 1TB of storage (base model comes with 256GB). It will also sport a vapor chamber for cooling the phone, and there will be a 5,000mAh battery with 80W wired charging over USB-C.

As for the cameras, ZTE has managed to pack a triple 64MP camera setup on the back of the phone. The main camera offers a 7P lens with an aperture of f/1.6 and 35mm focal length and OIS built-in, while the ultra-wide has a 16mm lens with an aperture of f/2.35, while the telephoto camera module has a 91mm focal length with an aperture of f/3.5 and OIS.

The cameras are capable of capturing 8K videos all at once, meaning that depending on your shooting style and preference, you can seamlessly swap between the cameras and not lose resolution in the process.

Once again, it appears that ZTE has managed to keep the price of the phone at pretty reasonable levels. It will be available initially in China in May where it is priced starting at around $750, and will make its way to other parts of the world in June.
