Best Buy has started its Black Friday sale early and part of the deals going on includes this NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 GPU from Gigabyte. Right now you can pick up this graphics card for $140 off the normal price.
It usually costs $1,199.99 and is currently down to $1,059.99. That’s certainly still an expensive graphics card. However, it’s cheaper than you would usually pay by a fair amount. And since graphics cards aren’t likely to be coming down in price anytime soon, these sales are almost always worth it if you’re planning a PC upgrade. Especially so if you’re on a much older GPU. Say from the 10-series.
Now if you’re looking for a good reason to upgrade to a GPU of this magnitude, undoubtedly the best reason to get a 40-series GPU and especially something like an RTX 4080, is the DLSS 3 compatibility. DLSS 3 greatly improves the smoothness and performance of games without really impacting the graphics negatively. In fact I’ve used it for playing Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty with the graphics cranked to max on an RTX 4090 GPU and it helps boost the frame rate significantly.
Of course there’s also just the general performance boost you get from having a brand-new GPU. And if you’re coming from something like a GTX 1080 then this is a massive upgrade.
