Sony has officially announced the launch date of the PlayStation Pulse Explore earbuds after having unveiled them back at the end of the Summer. They’ll be arriving just in time for the end of the holiday shopping season as expected.
To recap these are Sony’s upcoming true wireless earbuds designed for use with the PS5 and the upcoming PlayStation Portal handheld. Utilizing PlayStation Link technology players will get to experience what Sony says will be wireless lossless audio that fully support the 3D Audio tech. PlayStation Link will require an adapter to be plugged into the console for the lossless low-latency audio. Though you might not need it for the use of Sony’s refreshed PS5 that comes with the detachable disc drive. The PlayStation Portal for example comes with the PlayStation Link technology built-in.
So it is possible that the slimmer PS5 console will too. Though this hasn’t been confirmed by Sony yet. PlayStation Link will also be available in Sony’s Pulse Elite headset which also has an official launch date now. The PlayStation Pulse Explore will launch on December 6. Meanwhile the PlayStation Pulse Elite will launch starting on February 21 of 2024.
With the launch in December, pre-orders for the PlayStation Pulse Explore start soon
Although the launch is still a little over a month away, you can secure your pair much sooner. Sony will begin pre-orders for the PlayStation Pulse Explore on November 9. The Pulse Elite will go up for pre-order on the same day and listings will go live promptly at 10am PST. The earbuds will retail for $199.99 while the headset is $149.99.
