Here's what's on the menu today...



Today I'm serving up an HTC Touch Pro 2 ROM, based on Windows Mobile 6.5. The current build number and date can be seen in the title of the thread.

I build my ROMs with four main goals.

• Eye candy
• Speed !!!
• Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
• Stability through private beta testing before public release

I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go, how I'd want it. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the 'box'.

You will find a new ROM posted here every few days, as I always update them with the latest "ingredients" that come down the pipe, from either Microsoft or HTC. Because of that, I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization). I also provide an example script to use to save your email settings in one of the posts below.


I usually make a few versions of the ROM, depending on demand.

Here are the different versions that I currently make and what their descriptions mean.

• "Standard" includes the new TF3D2 (Rhodium Manila) along with the standard Windows Mobile 6.5 today plugin called Titanium

• "Titanium" only includes the Titanium today plugin, which is the default Windows Mobile 6.5 homescreen interface. No Manila (TF3D) in this version.

You will find TWO core versions of my ROM.

• The 21864 Build is from the OEM COM2 Tree and is the most reliable and bug free release. I recommend you start with this first! :)

And...

• The 23081 Build that's the latest in the 6.5.1 series with the Start/Close buttons at the bottom. These builds are not as stable but they reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft.

If you don't see the ROMs in the download directory, it either means I haven't uploaded it OR I'm not making one for the current release yet. Please don't ask in the thread when it's going to be uploaded or when I'm going to make one. It'll be there as soon as I can get it out :)

October 19th, 2009: (First official release with a 6.5.1 build (23071))

• "Release quality" 23071 ROM
• Action/Contacts softkeys not skinned problem outside Manila fixed
• Send button and graphics missing problem in Email/SMS client fixed
• Volume control doesnt go off the screen anymore
• Checkboxes and radio buttons skinned as well now
• There is a task manager in the ROM. press and and hold the start menu graphic to access it
• Sizing issues with the phonecanvas addressed
• 23016 version... unchanged.

October 11th, 2009:

• Album 3.2 incorporated back in
• New Start Menu layout
• Removed System folder and rearranged items on start menu
• Added Leo power settings graphical screen
• Fixed Lockscreen half size issue
• aGPS settings are back in
• Updated Email wizard
• Cleaned up Bluetooth icons on taskbar
• Minor graphical glitches fixed
• New Manila 2.1.1919 version with 2.5 style tabs and icons

October 7th, 2009:

• Updated Lockscreen graphics and control app (HTC)

October 6th, 2009:

• Album, youtube, videos in album, etc and all multimedia issues fixed
• Minor tweaks to the initial setup routine (invisible to the user)
• InCall recording fixed
• All new drivers (3G "My Location" and Google Maps works fine now)

October 2nd, 2009 (First 'Photon' ROM)

• Advanced WifI settings now showing mac address fixed
• My Location now works on 3G as well (make sure to use the latest radio available from latest Tmobile UK ROM ver 49.)
• Better handling of clock and timezones
• Fixed issue with picture assignment to favorite contacts in Manila
• Some new icons throughout start menu
• Rearranged items in Settings to more "stock" locations
• Added "Device Lock" to system, to be used as a shortcut for faster locking in the app of your choice (like Manila's homescreen)
• Fixed issue with having to tap the screen to start manila
• Phone Identity and "About" display fixed in "Device Info" screen
• Nice icon at the bottom of the dialer to bring the dialpad up or down
• New theme by gregorz (the awesome individual that develops the Dusk theme)
• Did away with the touchscreen calibration screen
• ALL NEW PACKAGES from the latest UK 6.5 ROM (official "non-test" packages, should increase speed quite a bit)
• New PhoneCanvas that displays contact pictures
• Too many damn new things to keep listing them... heh
• Name changed to "Photon" from now on

September 22nd, 2009 (last release for the Genesis line):

• Updated GeoService package (easier setup of MyLocation)
• Updated Google Location service
• Slightly updated HTC Lockscreen

• Added a bunch of nice new HTC wallpapers to "My Documents\My Wallpapers"
• Updated HTC GPS tool to 1.3.2.41d
• Updated Internet Sharing app
• New HTC Menu Enhancement.. Seems quicker (grey highlights)
• Vibration in onscreen keyboard is back.
• Updated EZInput to 2.1.1919 version from the latest Rhodium ROM (grey higlights)
• AGPS packaged updated

September 18th, 2009:

• New Contacts and Home icons on the Start menu.
• Upgraded Facebook SDK package (hopefully facebook works better for 2.1 users as well)

September 17th, 2009:

• Skinned top bar, dialog box buttons and buttons, checkboxes, on legacy apps (the 2304X look, without the sizing headaches)
• Calendar date picker "whiteout" issue resolved
• Opera proxy removed from opera.ini. Should have no more problems connecting to certain networks
• BTBPP, BTFTP and BTSAP packages update

September 14th, 2009:

• Added working my location service, fixed adding removing cities, fixed My Location. See notes at the bottom to get it working.
• Added new zoombar entries for more "zoombar'ing in more applications
• The default SIP is blue again

September 12th, 2009:

Just to let people know I will try an do my best to give active support for the GSM Verison of these roms. An will posted the updates as they come. More rom will be posted in the following days as i test them out....
