Larva Labs proposes an intelligent home screen that creates a meaningful hierarchy out of a user’s information. Designed for an Android-based handset, our home screen is intended to appeal to Blackberry owners and people struggling with information overload.

Draggable center bar

Divides messages and appointments from news, stocks and more general information. User can show more or less personal information by sliding bar vertically.
Icons

Icons on the right-hand side link to the full application for each category.
Stock quotes and news

Real-time stock quotes and news can be selected by the user, or retrieved from an online portfolio.
Color Coding

Indicates different categories of information (e.g. text messages, phone calls, calendar events.) The latest information in each category is always visible.
Weather, Date and Time

User can flip through weather, date and time for several cities via the weather section of the center bar. A micro-forecast gives a compact indication of the week ahead.

I agree. Gotta have choices and this adds one more to that bucket of options. Not for me, but might be for the next person.
