I read a thread earlier from a user getting his Diamond free...will I'm here to vouch that it is TOTALLY 100% possible, because I did as well!!!
I have been a HTC Touch user since Feb. 08, but unexpectedly after months with no issues, my first Touch started messing up (opening programs, closing programs, screen lock, etc.). So I had it replaced, like 2 weeks ago. Well, 2 days after use of the new Touch, with no customizations whatsoever, THAT ONE started focking up too!!! Frustrated, I called Sprint explaining to them that I would like to return the phone and get another phone, preferably a flip phone because at that point I was fed up with touchscreens. Well, the nice lady kindly told me NO!!! She explained to me that by policy, they can only exchange phones with like similarities, in this case a TOUCH screen! She told me that I can exchange the phone for any touchscreen that they offer. Stupidly, my first choice was the Mogul! lol She said, "Sorry, we no longer offer that phone due to discontinuation!" Then, "hinting-ly", she said " You can have ANY TOUCHSCREEN phone you WANT." I was like "ANY???" She said "Yep!" lol Soooo, I immediately asked for the Pro...but unfortunately that thing is backordered something wicked! lol To make a long ass story short, I asked for the Diamond...and sure enough it was overnighted to me and here I am with a wonderful phone which is currently being "Rom'd" up as I type!!!
