New Renders Show a Better Look at the Pixel 9

A couple of months back, several design renders showing the supposed Google Pixel 9 were shared online, showing a look with a familiar but refined take on the older Google Pixel smartphone design language. One key takeaway was that Google might finally equip the base model Pixel 9 with three camera sensors, although this might not actually be the case moving forward.

As shared by leaker @OnLeaks and the folks over at 91Mobiles, a new batch of design renders show what is now claimed to be the “actual” Pixel 9 design, which features one key change – the base model flagship Pixel will retain the dual-camera setup on its predecessors, consisting of a primary and ultrawide lens. The camera bar remains changed though, with a more flat look versus previous Pixel designs.

With that being said though, this means that we might potentially get three Pixel flagship variants this year, consisting of the base model Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and what is speculated to be a larger, Pixel 9 Pro XL model. If true, then this means that buyers might finally get access to a smaller Pixel phone, which doesn’t necessarily miss out on the full range of flagship features.

Of course, there’s no official word from Google yet. Perhaps we might get a bit more info come May 14, when the company hosts its annual I/O conference.
