Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch 8 at Unpacked last week. It brings a new design and minor improvements in other areas, but the tech under the hood largely remains the same, so the difference in the areas that matter are not that significant when compared to the Galaxy Watch 7.
Since the company would rather sell more units of the newer model, it's offering big discounts on the Galaxy Watch 7 to sell through the inventory it's got stacked up in the US.

The company is offering a straight $90 discount on the Galaxy Watch 7. There's no need for a trade-in. The discount is instantly applied when you buy the Galaxy Watch 7 on its online store.
This means that the 40mm Bluetooth Galaxy Watch 7, which typically costs $299, can be yours for just $209. The LTE model will cost $259 instead of $349. The Bluetooth 44mm size is now available for $239 instead of $329 while the LTE model comes down to $289 over the previous $379 price tag.

These are great prices for one of the best Samsung smartwatches yet. Remember, the Galaxy Watch 8 has the same exact BioActive Sensor as the Galaxy Watch 7, even though Samsung claims more accurate readings due to the new design that allows for better contact between the sensor and the skin.
