Google just made Gmail more useful by adding a small feature that solves a big scheduling headache. The new Gmail appointment booking feature lets users share their Google Calendar booking page directly in emails. No more messy back-and-forth trying to find the right time.
The option is available to everyone, whether you’re on a free Gmail account or part of Google Workspace. To use it, click the calendar icon under the email draft box. If it’s not there, tap the three-dot menu, then select “Set up a time to meet” followed by “Propose times you’re free.”
You’ll get a pop-up view of your calendar where you can pick your available slots. Those times will be added to your email, and the recipient can simply click to book what works.
This small change means you no longer need to juggle multiple tabs or update your availability manually. The Gmail appointment booking tool makes it easier to schedule time with coworkers, clients, or anyone outside your organization without the usual friction.
According to Google, “With this update, you can manage scheduling all in one place, eliminating the need to open multiple tabs to figure out when you’re available and then reiterate that in an email. In addition to reducing the back-and-forth when negotiating or scheduling meeting times, this feature is especially useful when scheduling time with customers, partners or people outside your organization whose calendars are not visible to you.”
Google first announced this feature in May, but it was initially limited to Workspace users. Now it’s available for everyone, including Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and personal Gmail accounts.
