Next-gen iPhones could copy fantastic Galaxy S24 Ultra display feature

Samsung introduced a groundbreaking feature with the Galaxy S24 Ultra that significantly enhanced the viewing experience of the screen. It appears that Apple has recognized the utility of this feature and is reportedly considering copying it for its upcoming iPhone Pro models.

iPhone 17 Pro could copy Samsung's Anti Glare feature from Galaxy S24 Ultra

A report from MacRumors claims that Apple's next-generation iPhones, the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max, will feature displays with an anti-reflective glass on top. This will reduce glare and reflections, and make the screen more legible under direct sunlight or around bright sources of light. It is similar to Gorilla Glass Armor available on the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Apparently, Apple's suppliers have been able to achieve a high enough yield for the anti-reflective glass that mass production is possible for the iPhone 17 Pro series. The glass reportedly also features higher resistance to scratches. It will be a premium feature and won't be available on the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air.

Even though Samsung brought anti-reflective glass to its phones and TVs last year, other brands haven't been able to catch up to it. It is a genuinely useful feature, as it improves the display's legibility without having to increase screen brightness. It means the display doesn't consume more power to improve the visibility. This allows the phone's battery to last longer and stops the phone's temperature from rising.
