Samsung provides details about its monthly security releases within the first week. Like clockwork, the company is out with the relevant information for its latest monthly update, the August 2025 security.
It's now being rolled out to eligible devices on the monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual security update release schedule, and will be soon available across all regions.
Latest security update fixes important exploits
The August 2025 security update from Samsung includes one critical and over a dozen high priority fixes from Google for the Android OS. In addition to these fixes, this update also brings patches for 18 vulnerabilities that were found in Samsung's own software.
These includes vulnerabilities that could have enabled attackers to access sensitive information on the device, delete files, and gain improper access to the device.
All of the exploits that it has fixed with this release were privately disclosed to the company. This means that there's a good chance they weren't utilized by bad actors to cause any harm, and that the vulnerabilities were plugged before they could have led to a security incident for users.
Samsung routinely adjusts the list of supported devices, as older devices reach end of cycle. This month's update has removed the Galaxy A22, Galaxy M32 and Galaxy F22. These devices will not be receiving any new software updates, Android or security, from Samsung.
