Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra To Get Exclusive Speed Boost with Custom Snapdragon

Samsung’s partnership with Qualcomm continues to pay dividends, and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra looks set to benefit from another exclusive performance boost.

Samsung has maintained a deal with Qualcomm where it uses the chipmaker’s latest flagship processor for their premium phones, except that it’s clocked slightly faster than the regular version. This arrangement has given Samsung’s Galaxy S series a performance edge over competitors the standard version.

This exclusive treatment is expected to continue with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to a report from Digital Chat Station, the prime CPU cores on the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will be clocked at 4.74GHz for Samsung’s version, versus the 4.61GHz clock speeds on the “regular” version of the chipset.

That 130MHz difference might not sound like much, but in the world of flagship smartphones, every bit of performance counts. It’s the kind of advantage that shows up in benchmark tests and real-world performance scenarios.

Other brands will be able to use this faster chipset at a later date. But for now, Samsung will have exclusive first access. This gives the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra a temporary but significant advantage over rivals. This includes the upcoming OnePlus 15 and other future Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 devices.

Samsung’s custom-tuned version will likely deliver the fastest Android performance available when the phone launches. This exclusive partnership has become a key differentiator for Samsung’s flagship phones. It helps to justify their premium pricing against increasingly competitive Android alternatives.
