Samsung partners with Google, Microsoft, and Perplexity for AI agents

At the ongoing IFA 2025 expo in Berlin, Germany, Samsung has announced that it has partnered with Google, Microsoft, and Perplexity to bring their AI services to its devices. While the company's phones, tablets, and wearables already come with Gemini onboard, Copilot and Perplexity will come to other devices in the future.

Samsung devices will feature Gemini, Copilot, and Perplexity

The company plans to bring Google Gemini, Microsoft Cipilot, and Perplexity AI agents to its devices. Standalone apps for Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity will be available on Samsung's TVs and smart monitors, and people will be able to use them to get information from the internet and movie and TV show recommendations as per their entertainment preferences.

Samsung said Galaxy AI is already available on over 200 million smartphones and tablets, and it expand the availability of AI features to a total of 400 million devices by the end of the year. It isn't clear if Copilot and Perplexity will be deeply integrated into Galaxy phones and tablets, but there were reports about Samsung exploring a deal to invest in Perplexity in its future mobile devices.

On compatible Samsung TVs and smart monitors, the Vision AI Companion suite brings multiple AI-powered features. Those features include Generative Wallpaper, Live Translate, AI Picture, AI Upscaling Pro, Active Voice Amplifier Pro, and AI Gaming Mode. A smarter Bixby delivers a more conversational and natural AI assistant experience.

These features can be accessed by pressing the AI button on the remote controller of Samsung's new TVs and smart monitors.

The Vision AI Companion will start rolling out via a software update to eligible TVs and smart monitors in late September, starting in South Korea, North America, and select European contries. It will be released in additional countries and regions in the coming months.

Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at Samsung's TV business, said, “At Samsung, we’re investing in technology that makes experiences more personal, more intuitive, and built for the future. With Vision AI Companion, we are redefining what a TV can do, going beyond picture quality and sound to deliver an experience that understands you, interacts with you and evolves with you over time.
