NexLawn Debuts Arm-Equipped Robotic Mowers and Smart Yard Tech at IFA 2025

NexLawn, the newest brand under the MOVA Group umbrella, used IFA 2025 in Berlin as the launchpad for its ambitious lineup of robotic lawn care solutions. The company introduced three distinct series, the compact VIDAR Series, the rugged VIDAR AWD Series, and the futuristic Master X Series concept, each aimed at pushing outdoor automation well beyond routine grass cutting.

Master X Series: A Concept That Reaches Beyond Mowing

Headlining the announcement, the Master X Series concept reimagines what an autonomous mower can do. Beyond the usual cutting duties, it carries a robotic arm capable of swapping tools for tasks like trimming, edging, weeding, watering, and even harvesting small fruits. Mounted on a four-wheel-drive chassis, the arm folds down to 44.5 cm for storage and extends up to one meter when in action.

The interchangeable attachments currently include a multi-gripper, a trimmer head, and an edging disc, with more in development. NexLawn says the Master X can clear clutter like branches or toys, tidy up lawn edges, and even fetch balls for pets. It’s part yard helper, part playmate, a novel mix of utility and entertainment.

VIDAR AWD Series: Built for Big, Tough Lawns

For homeowners with sprawling or uneven terrain, the VIDAR AWD Series offers a more grounded solution. Designed for lawns between 2,000 and 3,000 square meters, these mowers bring four-wheel drive, suspension, and off-road tires to handle slopes up to 80 percent and bumps up to six centimeters.

The onboard NexDetect system combines 3D LiDAR with AI stereo vision, mapping lawns without the need for boundary wires or antennas. With 40 cm cutting discs and NexTrim edge control, the AWD models leave margins of just 1.5 cm, minimizing follow-up trimming. Through the companion app, users can tweak mowing patterns, cutting height, and zones, while tapping into safety features like pet-friendly operation and anti-theft protection.

    VIDAR Series: Smart and Accessible

Positioned for lawns under 2,000 square meters, the standard VIDAR Series delivers much of the same intelligence in a more compact form. Like its AWD sibling, it uses wire-free mapping powered by 3D LiDAR and stereo vision, and it can detect more than 300 obstacles in real time. The mowers squeeze through 60 cm passageways, climb slopes of up to 50 percent, and maintain grass heights from three to ten centimeters. NexTrim keeps edges neat with less than one centimeter of uncut margin.

    NexLawn’s Bigger Picture

Chief Product Officer Jian Li framed the launch as part of a broader push into outdoor robotics. “By understanding real user needs, we design smart yard tools that adapt to changing environments,” he said, noting that the brand is already exploring future categories like robotic pool cleaners and smart gardening tools.

The VIDAR and VIDAR AWD Series are expected to reach Europe and North America in spring 2026, while the Master X remains a concept for now. Together, they illustrate NexLawn’s effort to create products that merge high-end technology with everyday yard care.
