For the longest time, Apple has done a pretty consistent job of separating its standard and Pro iPhone models by locking away certain features on the Pro series. That being said, the addition of (fairly basic) upgrades like 120Hz and more storage on the base iPhone 17 somewhat blurs this division, although that’s not to say that the 17 Pro and Pro Max don’t come with anything new this year.

As far as looks are concerned, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max feature a rather interesting look, which we first saw in several online leaks. We’re of course talking about the wider camera bump, although Apple has this time gone back to an aluminium chassis which contains a central cutout for a glass panel for wireless charging. Apple has also equipped the phone with a vapour chamber, which should be ideal for gaming sessions.

As it comes in two sizes, you’re getting a choice of either 6.3 or 6.9-inch models, as well as different battery sizes. Powering the phone is an A19 Pro chip alongside a 3988 mAh battery (4832 for the Max), which Apple claims is enough for all-day endurance. There’s a triple-camera setup on the rear panel, which comes with three 48MP sensors and an 18MP Center Stage camera in front.
As the Pro is designed for content creators, the phone also supports ProRes RAW capture and Genlock for use with third-party production accessories. It starts at $1,099 for the 256GB model.
