Samsung's marketing department has been getting its elbows out again recently. They've been releasing ads that directly call out the iPhone for the lack of several features that have already been available on Galaxy devices for a long time.
Samsung also never misses an opportunity to remind Apple that it still doesn't have a foldable iPhone. As Apple unveiled new iPhones and other products yesterday, Samsung went into full sassy mode on X to have some fun.
Nothing like some good old fashioned social media banter
It will never pass up a good dig at Apple's lack of a foldable phone. “#iCant believe this is still relevant,” came the post from the Samsung US official X account, reposting an earlier post from September 2022.
Apple has equipped the iPhone 17 Pro with three 48-megapixel cameras at the back. This device competes with the Galaxy S25 Ultra which has a 200-megapixel primary sensor. Samsung's response? “48MP x 3 still doesn't equal 200MP.”
It's making fun of the fact that all three cameras of the iPhone 17 Pro combined don't match the resolution of one single primary sensor on the Ultra. Camera performance comes down to so much more than the resolution, but when your rival hands you an easy opportunity to take a dig, you don't really bother with the specifics.
Apple does have a tendency to hype everything up even when it's often late at adopting industry trends. As tech YouTuber MKBHD pointed out the same, Samsung jumped at the opportunity to boast that “Actual innovation > hype #iCant.”
It's true that Samsung does have a leg up on Apple in many aspects. However, the latter's ecosystem and captive user base gives it the leeway to take its sweet time in catching up with the rest of the industry. Having to take some jabs from its rival may not matter that much to the folks in Cupertino.
