Okeedokee - I was trying to figure out how I was going to keep in touch with a buddy of mine who was going overseas. Apparently the story is that he will have access to the web, but not to social sites or VOIP, which IMO really SUCKS!
Anywho, I reminded him that he had no excuse for not keeping in touch with me because he could text me from the web, from wherever he was. He said he couldn't, and I told him that it was free and he wouldn't even need a cell phone.
Tested it this morning, via Belgium... (Thanky Wees!) and am waiting for a reply from someone in Kosovo right now, to see if it works from there. I know that it works from Canada, but am unsure about everywhere else.
In any case, I found these links from Sprint, Verizon and Cricket. I looked at TMobile, and you have to sign up with them in order to use it.
I know that there are sites that you can sign up for sending texts from their sites, but this way you don't have to sign up for anything, and it's free.
Sprint
scroll to the bottom of the page, it's on the right
Verizon
Cricket
Hope this helps!
