    Toshiba Laptop Support Request

Okay, I'm desperate, I took my husbands POS Presario from him, but I am about to fling it across the room to rest on top of my now non working Satellite P105. I have had issues with this thing for the last year or so, found some cracks on the motherboard that I fixed, and seems like there are some other things going on.

So now, after it started turning off on it's own - it has finally decided to not show the display now. It powers up, the lights come on, but no display. I have pulled the battery and left it alone for a while. Still nothing.

Anyone have any ideas? I checked the display cables, pulled the memory and checked where the breaks were that I found before, they are all okay. Is there a virus or something that will kill the display? I run Avast all the time, Malwarebytes too.

You know all I am doing here is venting, because I know I just need to get another laptop, I just don't have the cash to do it. I was looking on craigslist and found some that were cheap, that are just for parts since there isn't a HD or memory in them, but I have those. I'm just wondering about the motherboard that I found, since it says that this is a known issue with this laptop.

Thanks for letting me vent. If anyone has any ideas, send me a PM or better yet, a text.

it sound like the monitor display went bunkers. My suggest is there's a utility program that scan for hardware failures that the I.T people have and use to diagnose any hardware issue, i can t remember the name of it now.All i know the I.T dept from my job had use it on my old compaq and found that one of my memory slot was bad.But if i remember the name of that utility I'll let you know.

If all else fails, take out the re-usable parts & go "office space" on the thing...

sounds like the motherboard... does it blink and act like it is working than all of a sudden freeze on a solid light, if so usually thats the motherboard.
